The Ladies’ New Medical Guide, a digital project by Krista Roberts

Scholarship and resources on and about the history of women’s health are strengths of the faculty and student researchers and the Milner Special Collections holdings at Illinois State University. Interdisciplinary teams are gathering and beginning to analyze the university’s historical and contemporary narratives and documents that  record women’s health, including medical manuals, educational handbooks, disease histories, and fictional accounts. It is our hope that this archive and its exploration will be an interdisciplinary pursuit across the humanities, sciences, arts, and professional fields, including our Mennonite School of Nursing.
